Stonemark Capital Partners began its journey 10 years ago with investments in HUD subsidized Section 8 properties. In the following years, Stonemark began to focus more on market rate value-add properties that deliver both strong cash on cash distributions and attractive equity returns. TOM GROSSI
Tom has 25 years of commercial property management experience with office, industrial, retail and multi-family properties. His experience includes participation in the development of new projects from the property management perspective, and the commissioning of property management functions in new projects. Tom is a native of Seattle and holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Washington State University. Tom's real estate credentials include the RPA designation from BOMA, and a real estate managing broker license in the State of Washington.
Tom’s professional management experience includes his position as Senior Property Manager for Prologis, a national leader in the development and management of commercial properties. He was responsible for all property management functions in the development phase of each project and long-term management. Under Tom’s direction, the total portfolio grew to 1,500,000 square feet of commercial property, which included all new developments and one acquired property. Tom set up the local office and was the first property manager for Prologis in the Seattle market. Tom later became a Commercial Investment Manager for Pinnacle Realty managing a mixed portfolio of office, industrial and retail properties for third party clients. Drawing on this third party management experience, he formed his own firm, Navigator Real Estate Services LLC in August 2003. Since then, Navigator Real Estate Services LLC has successfully managed an investment portfolio of small to mid-size properties with emphasis on local owners and building relationships with local real estate investors.
ROBERT HOWE
Robert is the managing partner of Stonemark Capital Partners. He has over 45 years real estate experience having closed over $1 billion in sales, finance, and joint ventures. During his career, he has been involved in nearly 10,000 multifamily units, thousands of single-family homes, several hotels, office buildings, restaurant joint ventures, athletic clubs, a marina and retail. Robert's Stonemark group of companies has over $60M of assets under management and preferred equity investments in $78M of multifamily properties with commitments to invest in another $56M of multifamily properties.
Robert previously held leadership positions at large real estate companies such as Weyerhaeuser, Cornerstone Development Company, and Polygon Group of Companies. He has developed nearly 2,000 apartment units in multiple states throughout the country. In addition, Robert’s past experience includes the accounting, cash management, budgeting, and finance for over 100 companies. Most companies were single asset entities that owned a single property. Other companies included a property management company, a multi-market home building company, a major joint venture that developed single family and commercial properties in Arizona and a venture capital company headquartered in Washington.
Robert has leveraged this experience to help friends, family, and trusted clients deploy capital into multifamily projects in strategic submarkets throughout the country. Robert graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA with emphasis on economics, accounting and business and now lives with his wife in Lake Stevens, Washington, is active in Rotary and enjoys volleyball and traveling in his spare time.
JOHN CLAUS
John has 45 years of professional experience in the business world. John graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a degree in Engineering-Physics and Mathematics. He spent over 25 years as a pension actuary, benefits consultant, information systems manager, and an owner, officer and director at Howard Johnson & Company, an actuarial consulting firm that designed, implemented and maintained retirement and other employee benefit plans for companies such as Nordstrom, Intel, Montgomery Ward, Southern Pacific, REI, Bayliner Marine and Tyson Foods.
John then moved on to own and operate a real estate firm, affiliated with Sotheby's International, specializing in sales of estates, high-end properties, apartment complexes, and ranches. Most recently, he has owned and operated his own company specializing in residential and business environmental products.
John brings a successful career in consulting, administration, account management and staff management. He has a proactive and innovative approach to meeting client's needs and exceeding their expectations, thereby creating long-term loyal clients and the ability to attract new business to the organization. His excellent analytical and mathematical skills will prove valuable in the initial due diligence and subsequent strategic planning for the StoneMark Capital Partners.
